Vlado Spisiak

Vladimír (Vlado) Spišiak (1977) was born in Roznava, Slovakia. His professional carrier begins at the age of 18 when he toured as a guitar player and singer with professional bands in Switzerland and Austria. After 3 years of playing there, he moves to Holland where he takes on a variety of jobs as a guitarist and joins the Jazz Conservatory in Utrecht. He records with the band 'Chablis', singer & songwriter ‘Haske’ and composer/pianist/producer 'Wim Oudijk'. As a guitar player he took part in several theatreshows. He graduated in June 2007 at the Utrecht Conservatory; the examiners were Marcel Karreman, Eef Albers, Theo De Jong & Jesse Van Ruller.

Vlado is leader and composer of his own quartet (Vlado Spisiak Band), with whom he won the “Holland Casino Jazz and Pop Award 2007”. He is a member of several groups such as Groovecollectors (a groovy big-band), Barking Fish (rock band), Djafu (Jazzfunk band), Margo Klerx Band (singer/songwriter) and works as a session and studio musician.

In February 2009 Vlado was playing and arranging the music for Diesel fashion week in New York, together with DJ Joost van Bellen en Sander Stenger.

He teaches guitar in his own music school in Amsterdam and a guitarschool in Alphen aan den Rijn.
